Greensburg is a city in Decatur County, Indiana, United States.
In 1819, through the Indian Treaty of St. Mary's, the U.S. Government acquired a tract of land known as the New Purchase. Soon after this, the John Fugit & Griffy Griffith families entered the region, becoming the first settlers of the county. The area comprising Decatur County was set off from this tract in 1821 and named for Commodore Stephen Decatur, a naval hero. In April, 1822 court was established and government set up in May. The site of the county seat was chosen in June, 1822 and named, Greensburg by Thomas Hendricks wife, for her home in Pennsylvania.
The Decatur County Courthouse in Greensburg is known for a tree which grows from the top of the Courthouse Tower, giving Greensburg its nickname, "Tree City".
For the rebranding, we fallowed this brief: •Prefers san-serifs over serif fonts •Must be something of professional look & feel to attract businesses/corporations to want to come to Greensburg as well as appeal to residents •Current brand is difficult to incorporate onto websites and social. The new mark should be ready (or have versions) that are, mainly: •Easily adaptable for a website (a new website re-design is in the pipeline) •Allows for additional text to the side (e.g. Water Department, Street Department) •A favicon on a browser •On the side of vehicles •Letterhead •Business cards •Email signature •Building signage •Clothing
